Our Cooper River site—situated along the scenic banks of the Cooper River—is a critical manufacturing hub supporting industries from aerospace to automotive.We're looking for a Mechanical & Reliability Engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about improving equipment performance, plant reliability, and operational excellence.Why This Role MattersYou will play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability and plant performance, directly impacting our ability to meet customer commitments and business goals. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner with process, electrical, and automation engineers to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.What You'll DoOwn equipment reliability: Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support across plant systems and infrastructureLead and support capital projects: Define scope, drive front-end loading, and execute minor to mid-size capital improvements, while contributing to major projectsDrive reliability programs: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategiesSolve root causes at scale: Lead Root Cause Investigations (RCFA) and apply structured problem-solving tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.)Improve plant performance: Identify and implement solutions to eliminate equipment downtime and improve availabilityLeverage data for impact: Analyze performance trends and validate corrective actions to ensure sustainable improvementsCollaborate across teams: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver business resultsEnable workforce capability: Train operators and mechanics to strengthen reliability practices across the siteWhat You BringBS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)5+ years in manufacturing, reliability, or mechanical engineering rolesStrong knowledge of equipment design, selection, troubleshooting, and maintenanceAbility to read and interpret P&IDs and equipment diagramsExperience with PSM (Process Safety Management) and a strong safety-first mindsetHands-on experience with reliability tools such as FMEA, RCFA, Six SigmaPreferred: Machine safety experienceProven ability to troubleshoot, influence, and collaborate across functionsStrong communication skills and a high level of ownership and attention to detailWhat Sets This Role ApartHigh-impact visibility: Direct influence on plant reliability and business performanceCross-functional exposure: Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teamsGrowth opportunity: Lead projects and expand your expertise in reliability and capital executionPurpose-driven work: Help deliver critical materials that power industries worldwideReady to Make an Impact?If you're a problem-solver with a passion for reliability and continuous improvement, we'd love to connect.
