Release Manager – AI & Data

Workplace Type

Hybrid – 3 days onsite in Bolingbrook, IL (Tuesday‑Thursday). M‑F, 40‑hour work week.

Pay

$64.50 per hour, no flexibility.

2 rounds: first is a 1‑hour virtual interview, second is a panel onsite.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in release management.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Git, and Confluence.
  • Microservices, front‑end and back‑end knowledge.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and technology.
  • Experience working with multiple systems/teams.
  • Self‑motivated.

Preferred

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or related frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Release Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and manage release schedules, identify dependencies and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless release execution.
  • Align release plans with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Release Execution

  • Lead deployment activities across production and non‑production environments.
  • Ensure all changes meet quality, compliance, and security standards.
  • Conduct release readiness assessments and provide post‑release support.

Process Optimization

  • Continuously improve release processes and workflows.
  • Promote best practices in CI/CD, automation, and DevOps.
  • Maintain documentation for release policies and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with releases.
  • Develop and implement rollback strategies for failed deployments.

Communication & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for release‑related matters.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on release status and challenges.
  • Facilitate post‑release reviews to assess performance and drive improvements.
