Release Manager will be responsible for supporting various cross-lateral teams through the initiation, implementation, and delivery processes of multiple, simultaneous releases. Manage software changes across multiple environments through the software delivery lifecycle. The ideal candidate must be a proactive self-starter & team player.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple releases through all phases of the release lifecycle to ensure the time-sensitive release frequency.
- Ensure adherence to Change Management standards, procedures, and processes.
- Review change requests to ensure they meet the established completion criteria and processes.
- Review schedules of changes to identify time, conflicts, and risks associated with requested changes.
- Approve and reject submitted change requests.
- Collate scope across multiple teams to determine dependencies and risk.
- Develop and communicate release plans to engage stakeholders and ensure accurate release expectations.
- Proactively forecast risks to release health and work with various teams to mitigate that risk.
- Initiate cross-team discussions to address critical delivery concerns to ensure the overall success of the program/project portfolio.
- Report on release KPIs accurately and proactively.
- Report on security findings and potential risks.
- Conduct onboarding sessions with new hires to ensure they are aware of all necessary tools, procedures, and processes.
- Provide necessary support to all partners and teams to ensure release delivery.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years experience in IT/ Software development necessary.
- Solid understanding of SDLC concepts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Service Now Platform.
- Candidate should have reasonable understanding of Jira, Confluence, SmartSheet, similar tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Change, Incident, and Problem Management lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate large groups as a Release Manager and decision maker.
- Knowledge of software development in the Retail domain would be beneficial.
- Highly organized with excellent documentation skills.
- Experience with software delivery lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree or related work experience.
