Relationship Management Director oversees defined portfolio of partnerships, with accountability for partnership performance, value realization, and long-term growth. This role identifies expansion opportunities, monitors portfolio health, and develops performance metrics to assess impact by translating relationship insights into actionable recommendations and partnering with stakeholders to strengthen renewals, improve value capture, and inform future partnership strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and manages a defined portfolio of relationships, while maintaining alignment, stewarding relationships, and overseeing contract requirements.
  • Identifies and activates upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities within existing partnerships.
  • Monitors and assesses overall portfolio health, including outcomes, risk, concentration, and strategic alignment.
  • Translate relationships and portfolio insights into actionable recommendations that improve outcomes. Partners with deal teams to refine renewal terms, maximize relationship value, and mitigate churn risk.
  • Provides insights and feedback loops to inform future partnership strategy and deal structuring.
  • Collaborate with account manager and stakeholders on reviews to ensure deal goals are being achieved or issues are mitigated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Communications, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years ofexperience instrategic partnership management, account management,partnersuccess,strategic alliances, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing and growing a portfolio of strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with business objectives, contract obligations, and long-term relationship success.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute partnership success plans that deliver measurable partner value, strengthen executive relationships, and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Experience monitoring partnership portfolio health through executive business reviews, partner feedback, risk assessments, and key performance metrics to drive long-term business success.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration to translate partnership insights, performance data, and stakeholder feedback into actionable recommendations that improve relationship outcomes, resolve issues, and strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Experience leading partnership renewals by collaborating with deal teams and stakeholders to optimize terms, maximize value realization, and mitigate partnership risk.
  • Leverage CRM platforms, AI-enabled tools, and operational best practices to manage partnership activities and support proactive, data-driven relationship management.

Hybrid Work Environment

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
