Speech Language Pathologist
Unit Information
Location: Houston, TX

• Number of Beds: 381
• Number of Staff: 2
• Type of Staff:
  
  • Day Shift - 1 Full-Time Speech Therapist, 1 PRN Speech Therapist (one day a week)
• Patient Ratios: Caseload dependent
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate speech, language, and swallowing abilities of patients with functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in health status due to various medical conditions.
• Synthesize evaluation data to establish a plan of care using evidence-based practice interventions and age-appropriate goals.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and assess intervention programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  
  • Neonatal Experience
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study
• Preferred Skills:
  
  • Pediatric Experience
  • Adult Experience
• Required Certifications:
  
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
  • Current State License in Speech-Language Pathology

Work Schedule
