Job Details
- Per Diem opportunity working Monday through Friday with no major holidays or weekends required
- Office hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM in an Occupational Health setting
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients under the guidance of a Medical Doctor
- Duties include prescribing medications, recording patient vital signs, and monitoring diagnostic tests to determine the source of patient symptoms related to worker's compensation
- Determine physical clearances based on employment requirements
- Provide high quality professional clinical physician services as a licensed individual within the Occupational Health setting
- Experience in occupational health practices required, including CME qualifications, drug testing protocols, and DOT and non-DOT regulations
- Perform evaluation of injuries and occupational standards
- Provide appropriate guidance, support, and monitoring of PAs and other clinical staff
- Complete charts, EMR documentation, and all related medical records in a timely manner
- Knowledgeable in state and federal regulations including OSHA and HIPAA
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or PA in the state of Connecticut
- Experience in Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Hospitalist, ER, Urgent Care, or Orthopedics is a plus
- CT Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification required
