General Summary

An exempt positionresponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department while providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered orthopedic rehabilitation services.The Rehab Director will lead and support rehabilitation staff, collaborate closely with orthopedic providers, monitor departmental performance and patient outcomes, and promote efficient workflows and exceptional patient care.

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Rehabilitation Department and its daily operations.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services consistent with evidence-based practices.
  • Lead, supervise, and support rehabilitation staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic physicians, advanced practice professionals, and other clinical departments to promote coordinated patient care.
  • Establish and monitor departmental goals, productivity, patient outcomes, and quality measures.
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows, staffing schedules, and processes to optimize patient access and department performance.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment focused on teamwork and exceptional patient service.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, professional standards, organizational policies, and payer requirements.
  • Monitor departmental needs related to staffing, equipment, supplies, and budget; make recommendations to administration as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and expand rehabilitation services and support the continued growth of the department.
  • Address patient concerns and promote a positive patient experience throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and other organizational activities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (DPT preferred) in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or another related rehabilitation field required.
  • Current, unrestricted Tennessee license appropriate to the individual’s professional discipline required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical rehabilitation experience , preferably in an orthopedic or outpatient setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an orthopedic clinic or physician practice strongly preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare operations, staff development, performance management, and departmental budgeting preferred.
