Regulatory Affairs Associate
Are you passionate about regulatory compliance and food industry regulations? We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate to join a growing team supporting regulatory and quality initiatives across North America. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams while ensuring compliance for products in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, track, and communicate new and emerging regulatory requirements that may impact products and business operations.
- Research and interpret regulations from agencies including FDA, USDA, and international regulatory bodies.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding product compliance, ingredient status, allergens, labeling, nutritional information, claims, GMO status, organic certifications, and related topics.
- Develop, maintain, and update regulatory documentation and compliance statements.
- Review and approve product specifications, labels, and safety documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regulatory assessments for new ingredients, products, and product launches.
- Support supplier qualification and approval processes.
- Partner with Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, Supply Chain, and other internal teams on regulatory matters.
- Provide training and guidance on regulatory requirements and industry updates.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2+ years of regulatory affairs or compliance experience within the food, beverage, ingredient, or related industry.
- Experience with ingredient compliance, labeling regulations, product claims, and regulatory submissions.
- Strong knowledge of FDA food regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Canadian and/or Mexican food regulations.
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Experience supporting food ingredient or specialty ingredient products.
