Job TitleResponsibilities:This role is responsible for operating ballast regulator to shape, distribute, and maintain ballast that supports railroad track ties.Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies, and proceduresCapable of working independently in remote locationsPerform equipment safety and maintenance checksPerform laborer duties as neededPractice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being usedCommunicate with team and supervisors throughout the job processOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:At least one year of verifiable experience operating regulator equipment to shape, shoulder, and sweep track ballastAbility to perform minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.Extensive travel is required up to 3 weeks at a time is necessaryExperience working outdoorsMust pass background check and drug testMust have a valid driver's licenseSpecialized/Technical Knowledge/Education/Experience:Prior railroad experience requiredPrefer previous construction experience and/or mechanical aptitudeSafety conscious with high regard for other employees working with or near equipmentMust be a team player and willing to learn all phases of the position.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:Able to perform duties outside in multiple environments including but not limited to heat and humidity, rain, snow, and iceFrequent walking on uneven surfacesStanding for extended periods of timeLift/carry or push/pull equipment and other objects weighing up to 75 poundsMust be able to bend, stoop and kneel for extended periods of timeThank you for your interest in this position and for taking the time to apply.
