nHere's What You Need
nOther Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
nOther - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
n1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred
nRCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required and
nRRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required and
nBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
nACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required and
nNRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
nGood verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience
nWhat You Will Do
nReview available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
nEvaluates each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
nApplies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
nDemonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
nUses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
nPerforms treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
