Registered Pharmacist

Seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital pharmacy setting. The role involves medication order entry and verification, IV admixture, medication management, and collaboration with the clinical care team to support safe and effective patient care. Epic proficiency is required , along with an active Virginia Pharmacist license and recent inpatient pharmacy experience. Rotating day/evening shifts are expected, with occasional overnight coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, enter, and verify medication orders accurately.
• Perform IV admixture and IV pharmacy functions.
• Review drug interactions and support antibiotic management.
• Manage patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) medications.
• Ensure safe and appropriate medication use.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and comply with hospital policies.
• Support overnight coverage as needed based on scheduling requirements.

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Pharmacist License in hand at submission – required.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• PharmD and RPh credentials required.
• 1+ year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• Epic proficiency required – no exceptions.
• Previous travel experience preferred.
• Chemotherapy experience preferred.
• Anticoagulation management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing experience preferred.
• Must have no prior license or background hits .
• Flu vaccination required; approved medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed.
• 13-week contract position
• Shift is 8 hrs/rotating shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 40 hrs/week
• Location is Chesapeake, VA 23320
• Locals are not accepted within 50 miles of job location
• Pay Range for Traveler: $3,750 - $3,800 per week
