Responsibilities
- Manage the Pharmacy Department and oversee dispensing functions for inpatient and outpatient medications, and other Pharmacy‑sponsored programs.
- Manage personnel: assign responsibilities to pharmacy technicians, interns, and other Pharmacy staff.
- Provide pharmacy in‑services, journals, and information regarding seminars and meetings; ensure ongoing continuing education and competence evaluation.
- Disseminate drug information to health‑care professionals and patients.
- Consult with department directors, hospital administration, and other hospital personnel; initiate corrective actions and supervise interactions between Pharmacy personnel, hospital staff, and the public.
- Initiate and evaluate Pharmacy programs; participate on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee; help maintain and control the hospital formulary system.
- Initiate and maintain inventory control procedures; supervise inventory levels; assign personnel for purchase orders, inventory monitoring, and controlled‑substance records.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the hospital administrator.
Qualifications
- Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (required).
- Licensed in the state of Alabama (required).
Hospital experience preferred.
Salary negotiable based on experience.
Position type: Pool/PRN/Per Diem.
