Overview

Shift : Full time, Weekend Days, 3x12 hour shifts per week

Work Arrangement : On-Site

Department : Progressive Care Unit

Facility : Capital Region Medical Center, 1125 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO

Compensation :

  • Base Pay Range: $32.82 - $48.27/hour, based on experience
  • Shift Differentials: Additional $8.00/hour for weekend shifts
  • Choose Between Sign-On Bonus -OR- Retention Rewards
  • Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
  • Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000
  • Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away
  • Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000
  • Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000
  • Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. Policy language is available upon request.

Detailed Job Description

  • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
  • Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of medications with regard to action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
  • Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
  • Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. Understands attendance, punctuality guidelines, and dress code adherence.
  • Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person and records those observations accurately and concisely.
  • Provides quality care to patients and works with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
  • One (1) year of RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts, holidays, and work during inclement weather will be required.
