Role Description The Registered Nurse at the International Spine, Pain & Performance Center will provide direct patient care to individuals experiencing spine, pain, and performance-related conditions in an outpatient setting. This full-time, on-site role is based in Washington, DC & Arlington, VA and includes responsibilities such as triaging patients, assisting with procedures, administering medications and injections per protocol, and monitoring patient responses. The nurse will perform patient assessments, obtain medical histories, educate patients and families about treatment plans, and reinforce care instructions to support long-term pain management and functional improvement. Additional duties include coordinating care with physicians and therapists, documenting accurately in the electronic health record, managing follow-up communications, and supporting clinic flow to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia & Washington, DC; graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Clinical experience in pain management, operative/perioperative, orthopedics, neurology, rehabilitation, or related outpatient specialties, with strong patient assessment and triage skills.
- Proficiency in care coordination, including collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, and behavioral health specialists to support interdisciplinary treatment plans.
- Strong patient education and communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures, treatments, and self-care instructions in clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive language.
- Experience using electronic health records for accurate documentation, order entry, and information retrieval; comfortable with basic computer and clinic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and adherence to safety, quality, and infection control standards.
- CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications in pain or spine care are a plus.
