Shift Details
12‑hour shifts, part‑time (6 FTE).

Responsibilities

• Complete the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, teaching, evaluation, and documentation from admission through discharge.
• Integrate contributions of the interdisciplinary team to assure best possible outcomes.
• Supervise and maintain professional relationships with licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide coordinated patient care and deliver holistic care involving patients and families.
• Adhere to hospital nursing department philosophies, policies, and protocols.
• Apply current technology, competencies, and theory to care delivery.
• Participate in patient‑care needs meetings that improve team effectiveness.
• Assume leadership of patient care activities and delegate appropriately.
• Maintain quality of care by collaborating with specialists and interprofessional team.
• Evaluate patient status and set appropriate goals.
• Apply evidence‑based practice and utilize quality‑measurement improvement data.
• Contribute to safe, effective, and professional delivery of care, following infection‑control policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team, using SBAR when needed.
• Adapt to unit rotations, policy changes, and patient population changes.
• Participate in professional development and CE requirements for license renewal.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license.
• BLS CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• ADN or higher nursing degree (e.g., BSN) or signed learning agreement upon hire.
• Analytical skills to assess patient condition and use the nursing process.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact with patients, families, medical personnel, and team members.
• Capacity to work effectively in stressful, urgent situations.
• Knowledge of patient needs related to culture, age, developmental level, and diagnoses.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred: Prior rehabilitation nursing experience.
