What You’ll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care
- Provide compassionate care to a primarily adult inpatient population
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to established standards
- Educate patients and families throughout the care experience
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Promote quality, safety, and positive patient outcomes
What You’ll Need
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Clinical competence in caring for the patient population served by the department
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers—or an approved equivalent—within 90 days of hire
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
BSN Education Requirement
Upon hire, a non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed RN experience must:
- Enroll in a BSN or higher nursing degree program
- Be accepted into a program within 15 months of hire
- Complete the degree within five years of enrollment—or six years for an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing
