What You’ll Do

• Provide nursing care from initial patient contact until care is endorsed to the accepting medical facility.
• Practice nursing within the scope defined by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• Understand and utilize the Specialty Care Transport Unit Interfacility Transfer Protocols.
• Complete required patient care documentation within scope of practice.
• Maintain knowledge and competency in psychomotor skills through ongoing education.
• Communicate educational needs to the Medical Director and SCTU Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, and training.
• Conduct inspections of the ambulance, equipment, medication, and narcotics at the beginning of each shift.
• Maintain adequate supplies in the ambulance for patient care delivery.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's of Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience: Minimum of 1-year clinical experience in critical care or emergency nursing
• Licenses & Certifications:
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License from a USA state
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator
