About This Role
The Specialty Care Transport Nurse will utilize the nursing process and established best practices to assess, plan, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in both out-of-hospital and interfacility environments. This role is ideal for nurses who understand and apply specialized critical care principles and techniques.

What You'll Do
- Collaborate and communicate with the interdisciplinary team to convey diagnosis, treatment effects, and results to patients and families.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information and participating in problem-solving.
- Attend educational workshops and review professional publications to maintain professional knowledge.
- Delegate patient care activities to qualified individuals while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Participate in the collection, analysis, and application of performance improvement data.
- Ensure patient safety during transport, providing basic and advanced life support as needed.
- Establish patient care goals and educate patients and families about illness and treatment.
- Ensure the unit is ready in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supplies, and cleanliness.
- Collect health history data from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Document all data and findings in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Education:- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Demonstrates the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 60 days of entering position
- Valid Driver's License from a USA state required
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support Certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification within 60 days of entering position
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification New Jersey within 60 days of entering position
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 60 days of entering position
- Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification (MICP) or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse certification (MICN) required for 911/Advanced Life Support response only
