Registered Nurse – Surgical Center Outpatient Services (PRN)

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is a 295‑bed hospital located in Somerset, Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the outpatient surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families; provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
