Position Overview

OR (Operating Room) Surgical Services features 14 operating rooms with advanced surgical technology, including 3 da Vinci Robotic Systems for minimally invasive surgery. The primary goal is to ensure an outstanding surgical experience through advocating and supporting patients and families with the highest quality of nursing care. Registered nurses in the operating room have opportunities to circulate or scrub in various specialties, including general, robotics, bariatrics, plastics, orthopedics, neurovascular, spine, thoracic, urology, and GYN.

Shift Details

• Day shift; per diem
• 56 hours per 8‑week graph
• Two call shifts per 8‑week graph
• One in‑house “hard to schedule day” per calendar year (day before or after a major holiday)
• One holiday requirement

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and support patients and families during surgical procedures.
• Circulate or scrub during a range of surgical specialties.
• Perform nursing duties during minimally invasive and open surgeries.
• Participate in scheduled shift and call coverage.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (required).
• Registered nurse – New Jersey license (required).
• National nursing certification preferable.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required). If pursuing a BSN, greater than 15 months professional nursing experience.
• Associate of Arts or Science in nursing or comparable experience. Associate’s degree may be considered with greater than 5 years of clinical experience in a specialty.

Compensation

Hourly rate ranging from $49.96 to $68.99, based on experience and education.
