Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Telemetry
Job Type: PRN | Days
Schedule: 12‑hour shifts, PRN – as needed, days (7a‑7p). Holidays and weekends may be required.
About the Role
You will provide nursing care in a 22‑bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry unit with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5. The unit focuses on patients with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions, requiring advanced cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide care suitable to patient condition and age.
- Perform timely and accurate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
- Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
- Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
- Preferred: one year of experience.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment.
