Registered Nurse (RN), Orthopedics Clinic

Job Type and Compensation

Full-Time | 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per patient per month.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts.

About the Role

Clinic RN serving the community at UP Health System - Portage.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, nursing home, patient, and family.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Delegate patient care activities to appropriately qualified staff.
• Perform prior authorizations on tests, procedures, medications, etc. required by the patient’s insurance.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license (or attain within 90 days of hire).
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Basic Life Support certification required (available upon hire).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.
