Role Overview: The RN Circulator provides direct nursing care during surgical procedures, adhering to established policies and promoting patient safety.
Key Responsibilities: Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs to deliver personalized care. Review documentation, prepare the operating room, check and troubleshoot equipment, maintain sterilization standards, position and prepare patients, monitor vital signs, and assist surgeons with instruments. Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure seamless care.
Qualifications & Skills: Valid RN license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Associate degree (BSN preferred), BLS certification within two months, and at least two years of OR nursing experience. Must possess strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient safety, and surgical procedures. Critical thinking, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication are essential.
