Job Description

Our nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient‑centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence‑based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, and the medical staff’s directives. The registered nurse uses knowledge and skill to apply the nursing process, developing a plan of care that includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Responsibilities

Apply the nursing process and evidence‑based practices to deliver patient‑centered care within the hospital setting, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to meet all aspects of patient needs.

Experience

• Working knowledge of the nursing process and customer service principles.
• National certification in specialty preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• IV skill preferred.
• Secondary language skills preferred.

Licensure / Certification

• Certified in BLS or completion during the first three months of employment.
• ACLS required for ED, CCU, designated staff in ACU/PACU, and Endo; strongly recommended for cross‑trained staff.
• NNR required for OB.

Qualifications

Must possess current CT RN licensure and be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
