Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments, considering psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Administer medications accurately, following safety protocols and age-specific guidelines.
- Ensure patient safety through proper documentation, aseptic techniques, and communication.
- Function flexibly under stress, utilizing critical thinking, sound judgment, and delegation skills.
- Provide age-appropriate care, interpret patient data, and deliver accurate patient reports.
- Prepare surgical environments, maintain aseptic techniques, and communicate effectively with surgical teams, including managing specimen handling and instrument counts.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Connecticut.
- Certification in CPR required.
- Previous experience in surgical or labor and delivery settings, especially assisting with C-sections.
