Job Type: Full-Time | 0.75 FTE or 60 hours per person per week

Schedule: 5 x 12-hour shifts, Days (7a-7p), Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Compensation: $7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants

Enjoy the fast pace of the Emergency Department combined with the clinical depth of inpatient care. In our Observation Unit, you will play a key role in monitoring patients, supporting timely clinical decisions, and helping guide them safely to the next step in their care—whether that is admission or discharge. It is a dynamic environment where your assessment skills, critical thinking, and teamwork make an immediate and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Document patient care given.
  • Work closely with providers to ensure patients meet observation criteria, monitoring them for 24–48 hours to assess their condition and determine if they need to be admitted as an inpatient or discharged.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants must have a current Michigan RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
