Registered Nurse (RN) Manager – Medical & Surgical Unit

Full‑time position (0.8 FTE) with 8‑hour shifts on the mid‑shift (evenings). A $10,000 sign‑on bonus is available subject to meeting eligibility requirements.

UP Health System – Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, provides a diverse and supportive environment for exceptional patient care.

The unit is a 54‑bed acute Medical and Surgical unit comprising three wings (18 beds each) supported by care aides. It is a fast‑paced setting with continuous admissions and discharges throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP) certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Seven (7) years of managerial experience preferred.
