LPN Position Details

Job Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care under the direction and supervision of the provider, delivering safe and effective patient care.

Required Licensure: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Active license with the applicable Board of Nursing required upon hire.

Medical Assistant Position Details

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant performs clinical and clerical duties to support patient care in the clinic, following established standards, competencies, and best practices.

Required Education / Certification: One of the following is required and must be active upon hire:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) with MA diploma
  • CCMA (NHA) with one year of experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Brief Overview

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families. Communicates with physicians as well as other healthcare team members to provide excellent patient care.

What You Will Do

  • Perform general nursing care to patients; administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards; coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations; maintain timely flow of patients.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination; screen patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment; document obtained information in patient chart; instruct patient in collection of samples and tests.
  • Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
  • Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness; prepare list of medical supplies needed.
  • Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol; perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and perform all essential job functions, including: visual acuity adequate for duties; effective communication; hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds.
