Where You Will Work
The RN Float Pool at Lexington Medical Center provides staffing support across multiple inpatient and emergency care areas to ensure safe, high-quality patient care throughout the hospital. Float Pool Registered Nurses work within the Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and Critical Care Unit (CCU), adapting to the needs of each department while maintaining excellence in patient care, safety, teamwork, and customer service.
The Emergency Department includes specialized areas for core emergency care, fast track services, and behavioral health support, focusing on the stabilization, treatment, and disposition of patients with a wide range of medical needs. The Medical-Surgical Unit provides comprehensive care for adult patients requiring acute inpatient services, while the Post-Surgical Unit specializes in the recovery and management of patients following surgical procedures, with an emphasis on orthopedic and urological care. The Critical Care Unit delivers advanced monitoring and treatment for patients with complex and critical healthcare needs.
As part of Lexington Medical Center and the Advocate Health system, Float Pool nurses play a vital role in supporting patient-centered care across the continuum, utilizing advanced technology and evidence-based practice while serving the healthcare needs of our community.
Expectations We’re Looking For
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
- 2 years of RN experience preferred
What You’ll Do
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
