Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit ICU

General Summary of Position

The MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is a 120‑bed full‑service ANCC Magnet‑recognized facility located in the historic enclave of Olney, Maryland, situated nearly equally between Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland, and is part of the 10‑hospital MedStar Health system.

The 12‑bed ICU admits a wide array of patient diagnoses ranging from neuro, cardiac, GI, renal and vascular ailments, to post‑operative procedures. It is an AHA Gold‑Plus Certified Primary Stroke Center and manages patients recovering from acute strokes including those who have received thrombolytic therapy.

Nurses work 12‑hour day or night shifts (non‑rotating) and participate in self‑scheduling. Average patient‑to‑nurse assignments are 2:1 with a dedicated charge nurse on each shift.

Positions Available: Full‑time: 7a‑7p.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs – from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Previous ICU experience.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.

This position has a hiring range of $36.00 - $54.97.
