Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool PRN: Nights.

Schedule: 3×12‑hour shifts. Must have 1‑year plus hospital experience.

About the Role

Provides direct day‑to‑day care of patients and families. Practices to the fullest extent of employee license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Float Team to implement the patient’s plan of care. Provides population‑specific care and meets the developmental needs of populations served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

Qualifications

  • Current state RN license.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • One to two years of bedside RN experience required.
  • Two to four years of Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 30days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS required within sixmonths of hire.
  • Handle with Care preferred.

Tier Information

Tier1: Float to Nephrology/Oncology (NEON), 4N, Neuro Progressive Care Unit, Nursing Rehab, Telemetry, Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU), Surgical Unit. Requires BLS and other specialty‑specific certifications and a minimum of two years RN experience.

Tier2: Meet all Tier1 criteria and be competent to float to two specialty areas such as CVICU, CCU, NICU, ED, or L&D. Requires additional ACLS, NIH, and Handle with Care certifications within three months of hire or transfer.
