Registered Nurse (RN) – Float
Full‑time 3 × 12‑hour shifts (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) with rotating weekends. Up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates.
About the Role
As a Float RN you will support patient care across almost all units, adapt quickly to changing needs, and provide comprehensive nursing care including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and daily living activities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver patient care interventions, including medication administration and specimen collection.
- Document patient care and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
- Evaluate learning needs and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
- Coordinate and supervise daily staffing assignments and levels.
- Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff; assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Perform staff responsibilities as required to maintain service levels.
- Lead the resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky or compact state RN license.
- Associate degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification; ACLS & PALS as required by unit.
- National certification within one year of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of critical‑care experience.
- Strong critical‑thinking and decision‑making skills; ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
