Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department (ER)Job Type: Part-Time | Night
Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. The Pulaski campus is a 95‑bed, Joint Commission‑accredited acute‑care facility that serves Giles County and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire, STABLE certification within 90 days of hire, and Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire. Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) preferred; Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
