Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Level 1 Trauma

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for an experienced Emergency Nurse for Northern Virginia’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. Eligible nurses qualify for sign‑on and relocation bonuses.

Full‑time night shift (7 pm‑7 am); three 12‑hour shifts. Includes weekend, holiday and call rotations. During orientation the nurse will rotate through all shifts (days, middays and nights).

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family‑centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer minimum (2) years ED RN experience.
• CEN/ACLS certification desired.
