Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis - PRN Days | Stoughton Specialty

Overview

Dialysis Registered Nurse position under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse. The Dialysis Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.
• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care on the nursing unit.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization; access community resources as needed.
• May perform other related duties as assigned, including serving as Charge Nurse where ACLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• RN License in the state you are applying
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment
• ACLS is REQUIRED from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU
• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required
