Registered Nurse (RN) – Dialysis
Job Type: PRN | Days/Time: 630-7 MWF
Responsibilities
- Provide HD dialysis to ESRD and AKI patients using Tablo machine.
- Oversee patient during dialysis treatment, monitor lab work and report changes to physician.
- Assist in arranging time for physician to see patient via tele-cart.
- Clean and disinfect machines, and complete daily dialysis audit.
- Perform appropriate patient assessments, evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and nursing interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing dialysis treatment areas with needed supplies prior to starting treatments.
- Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in good working order per policy.
- Provide patient and family teaching as it pertains to the treatment plan, procedures, and preventative measures throughout rehabilitation and prior to discharge.
Work Schedule and Coverage
PRN status: The nurse will be used on days primarily when the HD nurse is on vacation, sick or in case of emergency. Most days will be scheduled. The nurse will be aware of the days that need to be covered in advance. Availability is required for unscheduled events.
Qualifications
- Current state RN license and associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing and a current state license to practice nursing.
- At least 2 years of current experience in the specialty.
- Current BLS required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
- Must be able to safely operate dialysis machines.
