Learn more about why we are one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas.Full Time Nights 7P-7A University Health System Lubbock, Texas 5 East is a 32 bed Cardiac Intermediate Critical Care unit that provides nursing care for adult and geriatric patients. The goal of this unit is to provide high quality care to patients no longer requiring critical care, but requiring a higher level of care than can be provided on the medical floors. Serving as an ICU step-down unit allows CICCU staff members to care for cardiac patients and patients from all other specialties and areas. Caring for high acuity patients requires that teamwork be utilized every day in this fast-paced, high-energy unit. Orientation is individually based and can last between 8-12 weeks depending on the needs of the new team member. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care. Qualifications: -Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing -Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License -Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association -BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire -PCCN Certification preferred -Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required.
