Job Overview

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Manager, OR in Valley Park, Missouri. This role involves leading and managing the Operating Room nursing team.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a surgical setting, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Support team management activities such as hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback.
• Assist with productivity and departmental goals, budgeting, and resource management.
• Foster high-quality patient care and compliance with organizational standards.
• Manage staff communication, scheduling, payroll updates, and overtime assignments.
• Conduct performance evaluations, recommend improvements, and enforce corrective actions.
• Participate in building staff hours and scheduling, including overtime and annual increases.
• Prepare and oversee patient care plans based on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Prepare and execute all staff communications, including huddle agendas and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with budget goals and operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing with 2-5 years of experience.
• Supervisor Experience: None required.
• License: RN.

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with 5-10 years of experience.
• Supervisor Experience: Less than 2 years.
