Job Summary

Bronson Lakeview Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Acute Care Unit (med/surg). The RN will provide acute patient care, manage patient flow, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain high standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care from admission to discharge using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care with other health professionals and delegate tasks within scope of practice.
• Document and communicate patient status and responses during each shift.
• Adhere to unit protocols and Michigan Public Health Code.
• Assist with procedures and support surgical teams (scrub RN duties) when required.
• Provide physical care within nursing scope appropriate to patient acuity.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and use results to refine nursing practice.
• Contribute to a supportive professional environment and uphold ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Michigan.
• Must obtain a BSN within eight years of hire if not already holding one.
• BSL certification required; critical care or ALS certification required for some units.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification within six months of completion for relevant units.
• Ability to read and interpret data from clinical information systems.
• Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, electronic.
• Demonstrated competency in patient assessment and care planning.

Other Requirements

Work includes variable shifts from part‑time to full‑time, with occasional on‑call and night duties. The RN must be able to lift up to fifty pounds and operate in a fast‑paced environment.
