Overview

At Wellstar, we enhance the health and well‑being of every person we serve. This RN Clinical Nurse works a day shift in the United States and is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team that delivers individualized, safe, high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
    • Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice; coordinates care through effective partnerships and ensures individualized care.
    • Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects the unique characteristics of each patient and adapts service delivery to cultural diversity.
    • Partners consistently with patients and significant others, using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching) and keeping goals the focus of the plan of care.
    • Practices using current clinical practice standards.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional delivery model, including timely documentation and inclusive interdisciplinary communication.
    • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and supports recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
    • Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
  • Professional Development and Initiative
    • Completes professional competency assessment, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
    • Serves as preceptor or mentor for nurses, staff, or students across disciplines to build a qualified workforce.
  • Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
    • Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participates in value analysis for decision‑making.
    • Upholds system policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).
    • Collects data, poses clinical questions, consults experts, and applies evidence to practice.
  • Resources and Support
    • Plans patient care across the continuum and supports efficient use of human and material resources.
    • Participates in developing protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • Required for All Jobs
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Qualifications

  • Required Minimum Education
    • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved nursing school (Required).
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
  • Required Minimum Experience
    • Less than 1 year; completion of accredited nursing school with requisite clinical hours (Required).
    • Direct patient care experience (Preferred).
  • Required Minimum License and Certification
    • Reg Nurse (Single State) – Required
    • RN – Multi‑state Compact – Required
    • Basic Life Support – Required
    • BLS – Instructor – Required
    • BLS – Provisional – Required
