The Nurse is responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process to provide nursing care for the patient throughout their life span. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered on their shift.The Charge RN acts as a front line supervisor and clinical resource for the department. Demonstrates clinical expertise and assists and mentors nursing personnel on the unit, in patient planning and overall patient care management on a shift by shift basis.
Provides direction to staff to facilitate meeting patient outcomes and coordinates staff assignments and duties, assists with completing the monthly staffing schedule for the unit.The Registered Nurse demonstrates effective leadership skills and supports the nursing department's philosophy, objectives, and vision for empowered nursing practice and assists in short and long range planning for the nursing unit and department.Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
