Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (Full‑Time, Nights) in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, you will deliver advanced and compassionate care to our young patients and their families.

Position Highlights

• Night shift: 7 pm – 7 am
• Department: Pediatric ICU Unit
• Shift schedule: Full‑time (36 hrs weekly, 3 12‑hr shifts per week, alternating weekends)
• Sign‑on bonus: $10,000 for qualified candidates
• Location: Brenner Children’s Hospital, AHWFB, Winston‑Salem, NC

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
• Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire (per unit guidelines)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire (per unit guidelines)

Responsibilities

• Lead patient/family‑centered care and the coordination of care from assessment to evaluation
• Use the nursing process to develop diagnoses, identify outcomes, and plan interventions to promote optimal health and wellbeing
• Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning and referrals to hospital and community resources
• Create a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, safeguarding privacy and maintaining professional behavior
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and facilitate information sharing among the healthcare team
• Participate in professional practice model and shared governance initiatives to promote teamwork, leadership, and clinical excellence
• Engage in peer review, professional development, and adherence to care standards
• Advocate for patient needs and preferences across all settings, including the community
• Apply care management principles to coordinate efficient delivery of patient care services and identify clinical priorities for continuous improvement
• Support a healthy work environment through active participation in shared governance and professional growth
