What You'll Do

• Perform an age-specific plan of care for a designated group of patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and health team members in implementing procedures and treatments.
• Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition, adjusting the plan of care as needed.
• Communicate and document patient's physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes and identify actual/potential patient problems.
• Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities to achieve expected outcomes.
• Maintain constant vigilance over patient care to ensure safety precautions are followed.
• Administer medications correctly and safely, educating patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, providing explanations of conditions and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Documented OR experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; BLS certification required; Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN within five years.
