What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
- Perform admission assessments documented on Nursing Care Plans and Nurses notes.
- Reassess patients each shift and with changes in condition.
- Keep the supervisor informed of changes in patient condition and treatments.
- Collaborate with health team members for necessary follow-up.
- Explain procedures to patients before they are performed.
- Administer patient care while respecting privacy and dignity.
- Act rapidly and effectively during emergency situations.
- Contribute to patient care evaluation through unit performance improvement activities.
- Collaborate with health team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.
Requirements
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a hospital setting.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN degree within five years of employment.
