We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for an exciting assignment in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative nursing experience and thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and sterile equipment.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout surgical procedures.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
- Monitor patient status during surgery and respond appropriately to changes.
- Perform accurate patient assessments and documentation using Epic EMR.
- Ensure patient safety through proper positioning, instrument counts, and adherence to surgical protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and PACU teams.
- Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
- Active RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience.
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and perioperative nursing practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
