Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education programs for nursing staff to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote professional development. This role provides leadership in training initiatives and supports organizational goals related to quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to various nursing specialties.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational activities and adjust curricula to meet clinical standards and staff competency needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical management to identify education gaps and facilitate targeted training solutions.
  • Oversee and coordinate trauma registry and trauma education programs to maintain compliance and designation requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison for continuing education opportunities, including classes and certification renewals.
  • Supervise clinical educators and support staff involved in staff training and organizational development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or an equivalent U.S. state.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience as a professional clinical instructor.
  • Have at least 5 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a specialty area (ER, ICU, OB, OR).
  • Demonstrate prior experience in emergency trauma and remote rural nursing settings preferred.
  • Maintain active certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; TNCC instructor certification is advantageous.
  • Show strong competency in developing adult learning curricula and educational evaluation.
