Registered Nurse NICU

Job Description

The NICU is a 15-bed, Level III unit providing specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, including infants born as early as 23 weeks' gestation. The multidisciplinary team works closely with Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapists, and Registered Dietitians to provide comprehensive, family-centered care.

You'll be the orchestrator of the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with creativity and precision. Collaborate seamlessly with your healthcare team to communicate vital patient and family information, keeping everyone in sync. Delegate and supervise care with confidence, document like a pro, and empower patients and families through engaging teaching. When things don't go as planned, you'll be the problem-solver who finds innovative solutions and champions their implementation to get back on track with patient goals. KEY REPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

SCHEDULE:

7:00pm-7:30am Rotating Weekends, every 3rd, and Holidays. Full Time Benefits Eligible.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
• Health care provider certification (BCLS)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• One to two (1-2) years of experience in NICU, preferred.
