Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

Role:

The nurse will plan, deliver, document, and evaluate correctional healthcare nursing care based on individual patient needs, adhering to recognized standards and provider orders. They will supervise nursing staff, observe and assess patient conditions, and maintain accurate documentation of care, treatment, and responses.

Responsibilities:

Ensure quality patient care within correctional settings, coordinate activities of nursing personnel, and uphold the organization’s mission, values, and customer service standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Ohio RN licensure, and hold or obtain Basic Life Support certification. Required knowledge includes nursing theory, medical asepsis, equipment use, and patient care techniques. Skills include positive team relations, physical dexterity, and the ability to handle exposure to communicable diseases and chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and correctional health care experience. Certifications such as Certified Corrections Nurse (CCN) or Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) are also preferred.
