Registered Nurse Med Surg (Part Time, Nights) Stratford, NJ

With a commitment to patient‑and‑family‑centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to value each individual’s uniqueness and address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of a diverse patient population. This role develops nursing plans of care with patients and their designated care partners, ensuring that needs and priorities are met in a culturally respectful manner.

Job Duties

• Integrate evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and patient and family preferences for optimal healthcare delivery.
• Partner with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs and provide understandable, affirming education.
• Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate errors, and support ethical decision‑making.
• Collaborate within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making to achieve quality patient care.
• Create an inclusive environment, demonstrate problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills, and pursue continuous professional growth.
• Participate in hospital‑based committees, including safety and quality improvement, and integrate feedback into practice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Knowledge of patient‑and family‑centered practice, fostering mutual respect and collaboration.
• Cultural awareness and ability to connect effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Effective communication skills, including partnership language and respectful delegation.
• Patient assessment and care, including diagnosis and clinical judgement.
• Patient and designated care partner education, including teaching techniques and learning priority elicitation.
• Medication administration and prescription, including knowledge of various therapies.
• Discharge planning, coordinating post‑discharge needs and follow‑up care.
• Health information documentation, including accurate electronic record keeping.
• BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA).
• RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (PA), State of Pennsylvania.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of a BSN or an advanced degree within three years of hire.
• One year of previous RN experience in an acute care setting.

Additional Qualifications

• Active RN license required in the state of practice.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull patients on bed and stretcher requiring up to 29 lbs push force; perform lateral transfers up to 50 lbs; frequent standing/walking; patient transporters may walk 8–10 miles per shift; CPR and other patient‑care specific activities may be required.

$39.54 to $56.34 per hour; actual hiring rate determined by experience, skills, and qualifications. Not eligible for annual incentive.
