Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg - Neuro unit, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with state and specialty standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, following nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." Your role includes being an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess the patient’s condition during admission and at each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record, including prescribing medications and monitoring responses.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate needs, and resolve issues.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex terminology.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- 1 year of experience in Med Surg or Neuro preferred.
